Based on our faith in Jesus Christ and led by His example of servant hood, the Dream 514 Team seeks to share the love of Christ with the people of Belize through helping them grow spiritually by sharing our faith, educationally by removing barriers to educational opportunities and medically by addressing overall health and wellness.
For several years, David and Connie Adcox have led short term medical mission teams to Belize in Central America. The teams were comprised of members from Maury Hills, Hohenwald, Carmack Boulevard and various other churches in California, Indiana and Florida. A large family of individuals thus became committed to the people of Belize and were eager to expand mission efforts in this country. Through these trips working relationships were established with a few indigenous leaders.
These mission trips fed the longstanding dreams of some to establish comprehensive mission work to address the spectrum of needs of specific communities in a developing country. Specifically, Dr. Martin Chaney encouraged the team to consider the establishment of a permanent medical clinic. In 2009, the Maury Hills Missions Ministry(MHMM) team made the decision to terminate other international mission efforts and focus Maury Hills mission efforts entirely on Belize opportunities. The team identified the need for information gathering, team education on missions and strategic planning for the focused efforts, "The Dream", in Belize. During the fall of 2009, Maury Hills participated in a study series on Galatians, one of the key passages being Galatians 5:14, "The entire law is summed up in one commandment, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" This the project name of Dream 514.
